    Polyacrylamide for steel plants

Polyacrylamide (PAM) used in steel mills is a water-soluble polymer. Because its molecular chain contains a certain number of polar groups, it can adsorb suspended solid particles in water, bridging the particles or neutralizing their charges to form large flocs. Therefore, anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) can accelerate the sedimentation of particles in suspension, significantly speeding up solution clarification and promoting filtration.

Our steel mill-specific polyacrylamide series products are highly polymerized, water-soluble linear polymers. They are completely soluble in water and dissolve rapidly due to their microparticle form. Different types of polyacrylamide have different active groups, enabling the flocculation of various suspended particles, facilitating filtration and separation. This series of products is virtually insoluble in any organic solvent but highly soluble in water. They provide clarification and purification, sedimentation promotion, filtration promotion, thickening, and other functions.

    1. When using steel mill-specific polyacrylamide, prepare a 0.01% aqueous solution, preferably using neutral water free of salts and impurities.

    2. When dissolving steel mill-specific polyacrylamide, evenly sprinkle the anionic polyacrylamide product into the stirred water, controlling the stirring speed at 100-300 rpm. Appropriate heating (<60℃) can accelerate dissolution.

    3. Adjust the pH value of the treated solution to allow the anionic polyacrylamide product to fully exert its effect (select the appropriate pH value and dosage of anionic polyacrylamide through experimentation).

    4. When adding the product solution, accelerate mixing with the treated solution. Once flocculation occurs, slow down the stirring speed to promote floc growth and accelerate sedimentation.
